                Deputy Robert Watson of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jennifer Leigh Mathis, 37, address listed as Toms Creek Road in Marion, with fleeing to elude arrest, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
                At 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, Watson was patrolling in Old Fort, spotted Mathis driving a white Chevrolet Malibu and knew that she had outstanding warrants.
                When Watson attempted to stop the Malibu, Mathis led him on a pursuit and wrecked on Silvers Welch Road.
                A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up .60 gram of methamphetamine and items of drug parpaphenalia.
