High Wind Watch until 12:00AM Thursday
The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a High Wind Watch, which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
* LOCATION...Downtown Ketchikan, Saxman, and Mountain Point.
* WINDS...Southeast wind gusts around 60 mph possible.
* TIMING...Late Wednesday afternoon through around midnight Wednesday night.
* IMPACTS...Improperly moored boats may break loose. Power outages are possible. Loose objects may be blown around in the wind.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHERN INNER CHANNELS
Instructions:
A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 MPH, or gusts of 58 MPH or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
