Following a pursuit, Issiah Jose Aguilera is arrested for Evading a Peace Officer

DATE/ TIME OF INCIDENT: Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 12:32am

INCIDENT: EVADING A PEACE OFFICER

LOCATION: Chamberlaine Way/ Koala Road, in Adelanto

SUSPECT: Issiah Jose Aguilera, 20 years-old, of Perris

SUMMARY:

On Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 12:32am, Deputy J. Mora attempted to stop a 1999 white Ford Explorer when the driver made a sudden U-turn in front of him near Chamberlain Way and Koala Road, in Adelanto. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Issiah Jose Aguilera, accelerated and attempted to flee. Aguilera failed to yield for deputies, as he continued into the community of El Mirage, driving through stop signs and not obeying posted speed limits. The pursuit lasted for approximately 12.5 miles and was terminated by the watch commander as the fleeing vehicle approached the Los Angeles County Line.

At 1:26am, Aguilera was seen driving the same white Ford Explorer on Sheep Creek Road in El Mirage. When deputies attempted to stop him, Aguilera fled showing complete disregard for public safety as he drove through several stop signs, a solid red light, drove at high rates of speed, and crossed over double yellow lines into oncoming traffic lanes multiple times. Deputies deployed a spike strip at the intersection Palmdale Road and Koala Road in Adelanto, subsequently causing his tires to deflate, ending the 15.2mile pursuit.

Issiah Jose Aguilera, who was driving on a suspended license, was arrested without further incident. He is currently being held at High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $150,000.00 bail.
