Police Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash
Suffolk County Police Third Squad Detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured a police officer in Brentwood last night.
A patrol officer was on foot responding to a call in front of 147 Peterson Street when he was struck by a dark colored vehicle at approximately 11:15 p.m. The driver fled the scene, and a police pursuit ensued. No suspects were apprehended. The vehicle was last seen heading northbound on Route 111.
The officer was treated at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
