Low humidity, windy conditions, well above normal temperatures and an unstable atmosphere this afternoon and early evening will lead to several hours of critical fire weather conditions. Winds will taper off this evening and alleviate critical conditions. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from noon today to 6 PM MST this evening.
* AREA AND TIMING...Middle Rio Grande Valley and Northeast Plains.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest to west 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum humidity of 12 to 17 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHEAST PLAINS ... MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY
