Possible Flooding in Lamont - Sandbags Available To Residents

If you live in an area of Lamont that may be impacted by floodwaters from excess runoff from Caliente Creek, please pay close attention to this message.
Based on weather predictions, it is possible areas in Lamont may experience flooding. These areas are:
South of Wharton Avenue to Tri Duncan Avenue, between South Fairfax Road and Main Street, and
Panama Road south to DiGiorgio Road, between Santa Ana Street and Elmco Avenue/Santa Paula Avenue, and
The Hilltop neighborhood, and
Reynolds Tract.
Filled sandbags are available to residents in these areas beginning at 1:30 pm today, March 5, 2019, at Mountain View Middle School, 8001 Weedpatch Highway.
Residents are responsible for loading and transporting the sandbags. Sandbags will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Quantities per household may be limited.
As a safety precaution, do not drive or walk across moving water, mud, or other debris flow.
Please closely monitor flood conditions in your area. Please make sure your neighbors are alerted. This message will be updated as the situation requires.
