Hard Freeze Warning until 09:00AM Tuesday

Canadian high pressure will settle into the Southern Plains Tonight into Tuesday morning. This will allow some very dry and cold air to filter into the area. Temperatures are expected fall below freezing across interior Southeast Texas and Central Louisiana by midnight, and to the mid 20s by early Tuesday morning. Freezing temperatures are expected to reach the northern parts of the coastal counties and parishes by early Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Hard Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 9 AM CST Tuesday. The Freeze Watch is no longer in effect.

* TEMPERATURE...Very cold temperatures expected with readings falling to between 24 and 26 degrees by early Tuesday morning, with 8 to 10 hours of below freezing temperatures.

* IMPACTS...A Hard Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHERN JASPER ... NORTHERN NEWTON ... RAPIDES ... AVOYELLES ... VERNON ... TYLER
