On 2/15/2019, patrol deputies from the Moorpark Police Station responded to a residence in the area of Collins Drive and Arroyo Drive in the City of Moorpark to check the well-being of an elderly female. While inside of the residence, deputies noticed an assault rifle in plain view in Luis Gonzalez’ living area of the residence. Gonzalez is a convicted felon with a domestic violence restraining order restricting him from possessing firearms and weapons. Deputies served a search warrant at the residence in order to seize the assault rifle and search for other dangerous weapons. As a result of the search warrant, deputies discovered Gonzalez possessed two assault rifles, two .45 caliber handguns, a shotgun, three rifles, a crossbow, and pellet guns. On 2/26/2019, Detectives from the Moorpark Police Station located Gonzalez in the area of Ventura Boulevard and Corbin Avenue in Woodland Hills. Gonzalez was arrested without incident. Gonzalez was booked for Penal Code Section 29800(a)/ Felon in possession of a firearm and Penal Code Section 29825(a)/ Restrained person in possession of a firearm. |
