Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Mourns the Loss of Our Beloved Homicide Lt. John Corina 
On Thursday, February 21, 2019 a beloved member of the LASD family passed away surrounded by family, friends and colleagues. 58-year-old Homicide Lieutenant John Corina was a 36 year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and had served at the Homicide Bureau both as an investigator and leading a team of detectives for almost 15 years.
“John Corina was a tenacious investigator, a tremendous supervisor and an icon at Sheriff’s Homicide. He was also a man of great character who led by example, a consummate professional said Homicide Captain Kent Wegener. The Bureau, the Department and the entire community have suffered a great loss with his passing, as he touched many lives with his service. He will be sorely missed. “
