Detectives arrest Kyle Martinez for failure to register as a sex offender

DATE: February 21, 2019

INCIDENT: PC290 - Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

LOCATION: 5300 block of Topaz Street, City of Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT: Kyle Martinez, 27-years-old from Rancho Cucamonga

SUMMARY:

On November 14, 2018, Kyle Martinez was sentenced to three years’ formal felony probation for a felony conviction of PC311.11 – Possession of Child Pornography. As a result, Martinez has a lifetime requirement to register as a Sex Offender per PC290.

Martinez registered his residence in the 5300 Block of Topaz Street in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Detectives from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, and officers from the San Bernardino County Probation Department, conducted an investigation into Martinez’s residency. Through investigation, it was learned that Martinez works at various restaurants in the City of Palm Desert and his primary residence was in the 73900 Block of Shadow Mountain Drive in the City of Palm Desert. Martinez never notified the Palm Desert Police Department he was living at this location resulting in his non-compliance status. Martinez was living in the City of Palm Desert in an attempt to avoid the sex offender Megan’s Law database.

On February 19, 2019, Martinez was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for violating several terms of his probation.

On February 20, 2019, Rancho Cucamonga Police served a search warrant at his residence in Palm Desert and located evidence to substantiate additional violations of PC290. A criminal case is being forwarded to the Riverside County District Attorney.

Martinez will be arraigned in Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court on February 22, 2019. He remains in custody at the West Valley Detention Center, in lieu of no bail.

Detectives are releasing the booking photo of Martinez, in case anyone in the Palm Desert area has been victimized by him.
