FLOOD WATCH FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT THROUGH LATE
SATURDAY NIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of northwest North Carolina,
Virginia, and southeast West Virginia, including the following
areas, in northwest North Carolina, Alleghany NC, Ashe, and
Watauga. In Virginia, Alleghany VA, Bath, Bland, Carroll,
Craig, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Smyth,
Tazewell, and Wythe. In southeast West Virginia, Eastern
Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Summers, and Western Greenbrier.

* From midnight EST tonight through late Saturday night

* Widespread rain, possibly moderate to heavy at times, with
rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts.

* Flooding of some small streams, creeks, tributaries, and
possibly mainstem rivers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

Instructions:

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
