PARKING & SIDEWALK RULES DURING SNOWSTORMS

REMINDER FOR PARKING & SIDEWALK RULES DURING SNOWSTORMS

As snowfall accumulates, please remember the following parking restrictions and sidewalk clearing rules to ensure safe travels.

Please do not park in the street when snow is approaching. Our Public Works Department need the streets to be clear during snow plowing. Police and Code Enforcement may issue warnings and/or tickets for noncompliance, and vehicles may be towed.

Additionally, please be advised that in order to have safe passage throughout our town, including students walking to school, Borough Code 13-3.1 states that all residents must clear their sidewalks within 12 hours of daylight. We ask that you do your best to clear your sidewalk as early as possible for kids walking to school.

Thank you.

13-3 REMOVAL OF SNOW, ICE, GRASS AND WEEDS FROM SIDEWALKS.

13-3.1 Removal Required.
The owner or tenant of lands abutting or bordering upon the sidewalks and gutters of the public streets in the Borough shall remove or cause to be removed from the sidewalks and to the width of one (1) foot out of the gutters in front of or bordering on their lands all snow and ice within twelve (12) hours of daylight after the same shall be formed or fall thereon; and shall also remove or cause to be removed all grass, weeds, and other impediments which shall encroach upon or overhang the sidewalks and gutters in front of their lands, and shall thereafter keep the sidewalks and gutters clear of grass, weeds and other impediments.
