Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Crystal Gibson, 42, of Newark, on a charge of Aggravated Assault in an incident that occurred on Saturday, October 20th, 2018.

At approximately 12 p.m., police responded to South 19th Street and South Orange Avenue on a call of an aggravated assault. Responding officers located a male victim who had been shot. The victim arrived at University Hospital for treatment in a private vehicle. The victim was treated and released. It was later determined that the man was shot in the 200-block of Rose Street.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Crystal Gibson as a suspect in this incident and have secured a warrant for her arrest.

Gibson is described as 5’4” tall and 170 lbs. She has a medium brown complexion, brown eyes and brown hair.
She also has a scar on the left side of her face.

While police are actively searching for Gibson, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing her from our streets. This investigation is ongoing.
