Warrant Issued for Newark Man Wanted for Theft
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is seeking the public’s help in locating Richard Dejoie, 29, of Newark, who is wanted for a theft that occurred on Tuesday, February 5th, 2019.
At approximately 6:40 p.m., police responded to the 400-block of South 17th Street on a call of a theft. A man engaged in a private purchase of a television had his money stolen by a man who offered to sell him the item.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Richard Dejoie as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of Theft.
While police are actively searching for Dejoie, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets. He is described as 5’3” tall and 120 lbs. He has a light brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He also has a scar on his face.
