Police Investigate Accidental Shooting
On Feb. 18 around 5:15 p.m., Jackson Police responded to a shooting at a house in the 200 block of Rhea Street. Officers located a 16-year-old male who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, then transferred to a Memphis hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Based on the investigation, the victim was accidentally shot by a male juvenile who is a member of the victim’s family. The police department is in consultation with the District Attorney’s Office, and no charges have been filed at this time.
