Wilmington Police arrest Philadelphia man on gun, drug charges after foot chase

Wilmington Police have arrested a Philadelphia man on gun and drug charges after a brief foot pursuit.
 
On February 14 at approximately 2:40 p.m., police received a 9-1-1 call reporting a person with a gun in the area of 2nd and Van Buren Streets. Members of the WPD Safe Streets Task Force, who were already in the area, observed two suspects matching the description provided by a caller. Upon seeing the officers, both suspects fled in different directions. After a brief foot pursuit, both were taken into custody. Both suspects were found to be in possession of crack cocaine packaged for sale.
 
One of the suspects, 24-year-old Philadelphia resident Emanuel Stackhouse, was also found to be carrying a loaded handgun in his waistband. He has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $50,000 cash-only bail.
 
The other suspect, 24-year-old Frank Butts, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 on $5,000 unsecured bail.
