Winter Storm Warning now in effect from 3PM this afternoon to 4pm Wednesday for the Mountains of McDowell County. 
Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total sleet and snow
accumulations of up to 3 inches and ice accumulations of one
tenth to three tenths of an inch expected. Winds gusting as high
as 40 mph.
* WHERE...The northern mountains of North Carolina.
* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 4 PM EST Wednesday.
Power outages and tree damage are likely
due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
commute.
