Winter Weather Advisory until 12:00PM Wednesday

Cold high pressure will build into the region through tonight. A storm system will approach from the Tennessee Valley tonight and Wednesday. A wintry mixture of light sleet and rain will quickly transition to light freezing rain tonight, then continue until the temperatures warm above freezing late Wednesday morning.

* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch expected.

* WHERE...The Piedmont Triad region and the Interstate 85/40 corridor from the Triad to north of the Triangle area.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to noon EST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Freezing rain will create a glaze of ice tonight into Wednesday. Initially expect most of the icing to accrue on elevated surfaces.
