...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM TUESDAY TO 4 PM
EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations of one-
tenth to two-tenths of an inch are expected, with a few
hundreths of an inch of ice expected across the southern
foothills. Winds may gust as high as 35 mph at times, mainly
along the higher ridge tops in the mountains.

* WHERE...The central and southern mountains of western North
Carolina, especially along and east of the Blue Ridge
escarpment, and also the North Carolina foothills.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Tuesday to 4 PM EST Wednesday. The
precipitation may begin as a mix of sleet and freezing rain late
Tuesday before transitioning over to all freezing rain the rest
of Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hazardous conditions will likely impact
the morning commute on Wednesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads. Slow down
and use caution while driving.
