Disturbance leads officers to arrest pair on drug charges.

On February 17, 2019, at 10:19 a.m. Deputy Jennifer Loesch and Oakland City Police Chief Tim Gaines were dispatched to 311 E Columbia Street in Oakland City to investigate a disturbance. Upon arriving at the residence Deputy Loesch and Chief Gaines began an investigation. During the investigation Deputy Loesch applied for a search warrant after suspecting illegal drug usage at the residence. Upon receiving the search warrant Officers found three live Marijuana plants as well as drug paraphernalia, and other amounts of Marijuana. At the conclusion of their investigation Deputy Loesch transported the female 21 year old Samantha Finney of Oakland City to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail Ms. Finney was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Resisting Law Enforcement. She remains in custody on a $650 bond.

Chief Tim Gaines transported 31 year old Cody Lance to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Lance was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. He has since posted a $750 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
