Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle personal injury traffic crash on 2-16-19 at 7:15am. This crash occurred on Marcellus Highway east of Goodenough Rd. in Cass County's Volinia Township. Investigation of the crash showed that a vehicle driven by Roberto Reyna (25 yrs of Dowagiac, MI) left the roadway and struck a tree. Mr. Reyna stated he believed he fell asleep while driving. He was injured in the crash and was transported to the hospital via PrideCare Ambulance. Mr. Reyna was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Assisting on scene were Wayne Township Fire Department and PrideCare Ambulance. The crash remains under investigation.
