Sheriff's Aviation & Dive Team personnel conduct 3 swift water rescues in the Mojave Riverbed

SUMMARY:
On Thursday, February 14, 2019, the Sheriff’s desert patrol helicopter 40King3 responded to three separate swift water rescues in the Mojave Riverbed. Due to the large amount of rain in the area, the river rapidly swelled trapping several subjects in the water and on islands in the middle of the river. The crew of 40King3 responded with a Sheriff’s Dive Team member, who was assigned to the crew in anticipation of the heavy rainfall.
A total of five (5) subjects were rescued by the crew and transferred to medical personnel staged nearby.
