Deputies investigate an armed robbery; one suspect is in custody, a second suspect is outstanding

DATE/TIME: February 12, 2019

INCIDENT: Strong - Armed Robbery

LOCATION: Baseline St. and Sterling Ave.

SUSPECT: #1- Crest Markees Hollis, 24 years old, resident of San Bernardino
#2- Unknown male



SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 1:35 p.m., a deputy sheriff, driving an unmarked detective unit near Waterman Ave. and Gilbert St., in the City of San Bernardino, witnessed a strong-armed robbery. Two males approached a female and forcibly stole jewelry from her person. The two male subjects fled the area and with the help of a Sheriff’s Aviation unit and responding ground units from Central and Highland Stations, one of the suspects, later identified as Crest Hollis, was apprehended and identifiable property was recovered. Through investigation, Crest was identified as a suspect in a separate strong-armed robbery which occurred earlier in the day near Sterling Ave. and Baseline St., in the City of Highland.

Crest Hollis was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center for robbery. Bail is set at $100,000 and he is expected to be arraigned on Thursday, February 14th in San Bernardino Superior Court.

The victim of the San Bernardino case has not yet been contacted. The Department is reaching out to the community for help in identifying her.
