Winter Storm Watch until 01:00PM Wednesday
Low pressure forming over the central plains will move up the Ohio River Valley on Tuesday, pushing a warm front towards the area. Snowfall will start quickly Tuesday afternoon into the evening from southwest to northeast, and become heavy at times overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. By Wednesday morning warm air aloft may result in a changeover to a mix of sleet and rain for parts of New Hampshire south of the White Mountains and along the coast into western Maine. Despite that mix, a widespread plowable snowfall is expected. Snow will come to an end Wednesday morning from southwest to northeast.
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible, mixing with sleet and rain through the south. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 5 to 8 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and southern New Hampshire.
* WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CHESHIRE ... STRAFFORD ... SOUTHERN GRAFTON ... SOUTHERN CARROLL ... EASTERN HILLSBOROUGH ... COASTAL ROCKINGHAM ... MERRIMACK ... SULLIVAN ... BELKNAP ... WESTERN AND CENTRAL HILLSBOROUGH ... INTERIOR ROCKINGHAM
