WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO MIDNIGHT CST TUESDAY NIGHT. HEAVY SNOW AND WINDS EXPECTED.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph on Tuesday into Tuesday night.

* WHERE...Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Carroll and Whiteside Counties.

* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to midnight CST Tuesday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
