Hoboken launches youth tennis programs

Mayor Ravi Bhalla and the City of Hoboken are pleased to announce the launch of Hoboken’s new tennis recreation program for children.  The City has partnered with Tennis Approach to offer tennis lessons to children ages 6 to 14.  Registration is now open to Hoboken residents on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“We want to make sure Hoboken keeps up with the high demand for recreation, and I’m thrilled Hoboken will now offer tennis lesson for our children,” said Mayor Bhalla. “Thank you to Director Pellegrini and Tennis Approach for helping us improve the quality of life for our youngest residents.”

Lessons will be provided at the tennis courts at the Northwest Pop-up Park by Tennis Approach’s certified tennis professionals.  Parents can register their children, who must be Hoboken residents, at http://www.hobokennj.gov/register.

Class times start the week of April 15 through the week of June 3, Monday through Friday.

Ages 6, 7: 4-5pm (maximum 24 children)
Ages 8, 9, 10: 5-6 pm (maximum 16)
Ages 11 – 14: 6-7 pm (maximum 16)

Please note, parents can only register their child for one session per week. Parents may request that their child be placed on a waiting list to take part in additional sessions if space is available.
