Flood Watch until 06:00AM Tuesday
A stalled frontal boundary will remain located along Interstate 40 today. Moderate to heavy rain will fall along and north of the front today. The threat of heavy rainfall will continue tonight as low pressure tracks from northern Arkansas to the Ohio Valley and a cold front front sweeps through the Mid-South. Wet soil conditions are already in place and this rain could lead to areal flooding in many locations. In addition, the rainfall will likely result in river flooding across much of the region. The Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of East Arkansas, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee, including the following areas, in East Arkansas, Clay, Craighead, Greene, Mississippi, and Poinsett. In Southeast Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot. In West Tennessee, Benton, Carroll, Crockett, Dyer, Gibson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Obion, and Weakley.
* Through late tonight
* An additional two to three inches of rainfall with isolated heavier amounts will fall over an already saturated ground.
* Low lying and poor drainage areas will be at risk for flooding. Also the threat for river and small stream flooding will increase through tonight.
* AFFECTED AREAS: OBION ... HENRY ... WEAKLEY ... CROCKETT ... CRAIGHEAD ... CLAY ... GIBSON ... PEMISCOT ... DYER ... MISSISSIPPI ... CARROLL ... BENTON ... GREENE ... POINSETT ... LAUDERDALE ... LAKE ... DUNKLIN
