* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches expected. Some locations, mainly in near the entrance to Snoqualmie and Stevens passes. Accumulations may remain less than 4 inches near the shorelines of the inland waters or around the Everett area, where precipitation may turn to a mix of rain and snow late tonight.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Washington.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 6 AM PST Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ADMIRALTY INLET AREA ... EVERETT AND VICINITY ... SAN JUAN COUNTY ... WESTERN SKAGIT COUNTY ... EAST PUGET SOUND LOWLANDS
