Alert

Heightened awareness following weather events

Following significant weather events like we've just experienced, a heightened level of awareness is necessary.

Although the avalanche forecast for today is "considerable" there are always areas that don't correspond to what is forecasted. Continue to exercise caution and good judgement at all times when in areas that have potential for avalanche activity. For more information, please visit https://www.sierraavalanchecenter.org/contact-us

Also, with the series of snowfall events we have had this year, there is a possibility of exhaust vents for household systems (heating, dryer, gas stoves, etc.) to become plugged up. This could result in an accumulation of Carbon Monoxide. If able to safely do so, exhaust ports should be kept clear of snow. It is always critically important to have functioning Carbon Monoxide detectors on each level of your house. For more information please visit https://www.cdc.gov/co/faqs.htm

Instructions:

Maintain heightened level of awareness
