                Deputy Jesse Hicks of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Ronnie Leon Goodwin Jr., 31, address listed as Matilda Avenue in Marion, with possession of methamphetamine and resisting a public officer.
                Goodwin was also served with an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
                At 11:33 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, Hicks stopped a vehicle on Ramsey Drive for traffic violations, and found Goodwin driving.
                He ordered the suspect out of the car, at which time Goodwin fled on foot. Hicks captured him after a short pursuit.
                During a search of Goodwin’s person, deputies found 2.41 grams of methamphetamine.
