January 29

Residential Burglary – 1000 block of Villa Nueva Dr:
At 8:28 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence which is under construction and took over 10K in tools belonging to the contractor.

Forgery – 11100 San Pablo Ave:
At 3:24 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 51-year-old female after she attempted to cash a stolen check. The female was booked and then released with a citation.

Warrant Arrest – 3100 block of Carlson Blvd:
At 4:36 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 30-year-old male after the officer responded to a report of an open door to a residence. The officer arrived and found the male inside. The male is a resident there but his roommate is in the process of evicting him. The male was cited out in the field.

Shoplifting – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 6:37 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the business, selected merchandise and fled without paying.

Vehicle Tampering – Fairmount Ave / Liberty St:
At 7:35 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave / Carlson Blvd:
At 9:36 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 25-year-old male after he was found to have a warrant for his arrest. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto Burglary – 7700 block of Stockton Ave:
At 11:19 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle but did not remove any items.

January 30

Auto Burglary – 800 block of Balra Dr:
At 5:48 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a backpack.

Commercial Burglary – 9800 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 6:41 am, officers received a call of an unknown suspect trying to cut open an ATM with a chain saw. The reporting party advised the suspect got into a vehicle and left the area. An officer located the vehicle, but the vehicle got onto the freeway and fled at high rate of speed. Officers went to the scene and saw the suspect attempted to open the ATM with a power tool.

Auto Burglary – 800 block of Balra Dr:
At 8:17 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a bag containing tennis items.

Auto Burglary – 800 block of Balra Dr:
At 7:27 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a bag containing emergency equipment.

Auto Burglary – 900 block of Liberty St:
At 10:48 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed a window to the victim’s vehicle and ransacked the interior. There was no reported loss at the time of the report.

Strong arm Robbery – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 11:55 am, an officer reports a UPS employee was tackled by an unknown suspect during a delivery. The suspect picked up two boxes being carried by the UPS employee and fled to an awaiting vehicle.

Stolen Vehicle – 11700 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 2:51 pm, an officer reports an employee of a car sales lot left a vehicle running in front of the business. An unknown suspect got into the vehicle and left the area.

Auto Burglary – 6000 block of Central Ave:
At 4:05 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a laptop bag containing various items.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 10900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 6:52 pm, an officer reports the victim located their vehicle which had previously been reported stolen to the El Cerrito Police Department. The victim drove the vehicle home before reporting the incident to the police.

Auto Burglary – 400 block of Balra Ave:
At 2:19 am, an officer reports the victim heard their car alarm activate and learned an unknown suspect had broken the vehicle’s window and removed property.

January 31

Stolen License Plates – 700 block of Colusa Ave.:
At 11:11 am, an officer reports a suspect stole the license plates off the victim’s 2017 Jeep Cherokee.

Tampering with a Vehicle – 2200 block of Mono Ave.:
At 8:08 am, a Community Service Officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle, rummaged through the interior, but did not steal anything.

Petty Theft from Vehicle – 2300 block of Cedar Ave.
At 7:27 am, a Community Service Officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle, and stole a backpack which included a laptop.

Package Theft – 7000 block of Fairmount Ave.
At 4:28 pm, an officer responded to several reports of juveniles throwing packages in the 400 block of Albemarle St. They were last seen walking towards Fairmount Ave. The police officer located the empty packages, determined they were stolen and contacted the victim.

Vandalism – 800 block of Galvin Dr:
At 4:58 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window to the victim’s vehicle but no loss was reported.

Auto Burglary – 1700 block of Lexington Ave:
At 9:09 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle and removed property.

Shoplifting, Warrant Arrest – 7000 block of Stockton Ave:
At 11:50 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 60-year-old woman, a 34-year-old woman, and a 38-year-old woman for shoplifting. One of the women also had several warrants for her arrest and was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The other two women were issued citations and released at the scene.

February 1st

Battery - San Pablo Ave. /Carlson Blvd.:
At 12:16 pm, officers responded to the report of a subject hitting a woman. A 49-year-old Palo Alto man was located nearby and identified as the suspect. The man was placed under citizen’s arrest and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility after booking.

Resisting Arrest, Public Intoxication, San Pablo Ave./Fairmount Ave:
At 2:31 pm, an officer responded to several calls of a subject touching the windows of vehicles, blocking traffic and yelling at people. Officers contacted a 33-year-old man who was found to be heavily intoxicated. He attempted to access his bottle of vodka and grab onto a pole causing the officer to physically restrain the man. The man was arrested, booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto Burglary, 160 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 4:10 pm, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unknown suspect smashed the front right window of the victim’s Tesla and stole a grey backpack full of fifth grade homework.

Grand Theft, Resisting Arrest, 10650 San Pablo Ave.
At 5:20 pm, an officer was dispatched to a suspicious person at CVS, who was seen concealing items in a large Macy’s bag. The officer contacted the manager who confirmed the subject was concealing items in the bag. The officer made contact with the subject and asked him to drop the items. Once outside the store and setting off the security sensors, the subject, a 31-year-old Richmond began to flee and was arrested a short time later. It was determined he stole approx. $1050 worth of merchandise. The man was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

February 2nd

Shoplifting, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 9:47 am, officers responded to the report of BART PD detaining a 68-year-old San Francisco man for stealing food at Safeway. Store staff flagged down officers after the man refused to return the stolen items. The suspect was released with a citation.
