Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a Hispanic male adult in the city of Cerritos that occurred on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at approximately 2:56 p.m..
Deputies from Cerritos Sheriff Station responded to an abandoned railway between commercial buildings in a largely commercial area near the 16200 block of Shoemaker Avenue, Cerritos regarding a call of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It appears the victim was a transient and lived nearby in a homeless encampment.
There is no suspect description and the murder weapon has not been recovered.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.
