Update: 5:15 PM-Olive Avenue at Chase Street Gas Leak

The roadway is now open. It should be noted that upon further investigation the construction crew that struck the gas line was not related to PG&E. We work in conjunction with PG&E and the Novato Fire Department when responding to these incidents to make the area safe and to stop the flow of gas. The gas was stopped at 4: 40 PM. Approximately 20-30 people will be without gas until repairs can be made to the pipe. A gas service representative will come by to re-light pilot lights after repairs are made. We appreciate your patience and remind our community members to call 811 before you dig. 

At approximately 2 PM a construction crew, not related to PG&E struck a gas line at the intersection of Olive Ave and Chase St. Novato Fire and Novato Police are on scene. PG&E crews are working to remedy the issue. 

Olive Ave is closed between Railroad and Olive School. Olive School MAY be accessed via Atherton Ave. 

Chase St is closed between Orange St and Peach St. 

Residents at home, within the closed area, are being asked to remain inside.
