It has come to our attention recently that people in our community have received phone calls from an unknown person(s) who claim,

"That someone atempted to use your social securiy number and your personal/financial information is compromised".

These Scammers are spoofing the SSa 1-800 customer service number.  Spoofing means that the scammers can call from anywhere, but they make your caller id show a different number-often one that looks legit.  Please do not give out any pertinent personal/financial information over the phone and contact the Barnegat Police Department if you should have any questions.
