What’s the buzz? If you see or hear a helicopter over the beach and around the Pier this evening, please note that this activity is part of an approved film permit issued by the City of Hermosa Beach. On February 6, the Hermosa Beach Pier will be closed from 4 PM to 10 PM, and a helicopter and drone equipment will be filming above and around Sea Sprite and the Pier as part of the filming for the Veronica Mars TV show. This helicopter work, scheduled to take place from approximately 5:30 and 8 pm, has been approved by the FAA, Hermosa Beach Police Department and LA County Fire and will remain at an altitude of at least 500’. After the aerial unit has completed their helicopter work, a drone will be used for additional filming until 10pm.
