On February 4, 2019, at 10:40 a.m. Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a Blue 2004 Dodge Neon on US 41 near County Road 600 South. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith detected the odor of burnt Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. At that point with the assistance of Fort Branch Town Marshal Darrell Parker they began a roadside investigation. At the conclusion of their investigation Deputy Smith placed three of the four individuals in the vehicle into custody. Upon being transported to the Gibson County Jail the driver 19 year old William Swan of McHenry Illinois was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia. Also charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana were 51 year old and 20 year old Tyreeke Hooks of Evansville, Indiana.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
