Deputies arrest a 45 year old Apple Valley woman for a burglary in Lucerne Valley
DATE/ TIME OF INCIDENT: Wednesday, January 30, 2019 2:45 pm
INCIDENT: BURGLARY
LOCATION: 10800 Block of Palomar Ave., Lucerne Valley
SUSPECT: Michele Dawn Degarmo, 45 years-old, resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2:43 pm, two female juveniles, ages 16 and 9, arrived home from school to find a female they did not know inside their residence. When the female, later identified as Michelle Degarmo, saw the juveniles she fled the residence on foot with items she stole from inside the residence. The children were not injured. Degarmo had entered the residence through an unlocked, open window.
Deputies tracked foot prints from outside the house to a dirt field across from the victim’s residence. While deputies searched for Degarmo, a 911 call came into dispatch that an unknown female was at a residence claiming people were trying to attack her. The 911 call was approximately 1 ½ miles from the burglary so deputies went to the location. After receiving the description of the female, deputies believed it to be Degarmo; however, she left the area before deputies arrived. Degarmo was later located hiding in the area behind a bush.
Michelle Degarmo was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center. She is currently being held in lieu of $75,000.00 bail.
