Homicide Detectives investigate a shooting death on Eureka Street in San Bernardino

LOCATION: 25400 block of Eureka Street, San Bernardino
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
VICTIM: David Abitia, 43 years old, resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 12:27 a.m. deputies responded to the Eureka Street neighborhood for reports of gunshots heard in the area. When deputies arrived, they found the victim, identified as David Abitia, suffering from a gunshot wound and unresponsive. He was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center and pronounced deceased a short time later.
Detectives from the Homicide Detail responded to conduct the investigation. Detectives learned that Abitia was at a home on Eureka Street and after he left, the residents heard gunshots and found him down in the street.
