                Deputy Jason Cook of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged a 16-year-old male high school student with burning personal property.
                Shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, Cook, who is the school resource officer at McDowell High, received information that someone set a trash can on fire in the restroom.
                Investigation led to the 16-year-old.
                Damage was estimated at $50.
