*CORRECTION* #LASD Temple Station is Advising of a Deputy Injured during an Altercation with a Suspect

Thank you so very much for the outpouring of support, well wishes and phone calls for our injured deputy.  
 
The deputy, assigned to Temple Sheriff’s Station and a six year veteran of the sheriff’s department, remains hospitalized in stable condition.
 
The suspect, 58 year-old William Gerald Penn, a male White and resident of Arcadia, was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Peace Officer.  He is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE IS AS FOLLOWS:

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Temple Station is advising of a deputy that was injured during a call for service tonight. The incident occurred, Tuesday, January 29, 2019, shortly before 6:00 p.m., on the 5600 block of Rosemead Boulevard, Temple City.
 
The deputy responded to a call of a possible drunk male on the 2nd floor of the location. When he arrived and attempted to detain the suspect, the got into an altercation which caused them to both to fall down the stairs.
 
The deputy sustained a head injury during the fall. He was transported to a local hospital to be treated and evaluated by medical staff. The extent of his injury is not yet known.
 
The suspect was taken into custody by responding deputies. He was also transported to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
 
We want to thank everyone that has sent well wishes to our deputy.
