Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in East Islip today.

Brendan Patton was riding a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Main Street near Fern Place when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a 2019 BMW at approximately 6 p.m.

Patton, 33, of 35 Gladstone Ave, West Islip, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries. The driver of the BMW, Stephen Nowakowski, 63, of 111 Simmons Drive, East Islip, was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
