Travel Advisory - Tuesday Evening - Ice, Light Snow (6pm-12am)
Rain ending as snow tomorrow evening with very cold temps to follow...
Tuesday features a slow arrival of precipitation during the morning and any accumulating snow risk at the onset looks to be to our northwest. Once precip gets steady enough to
be more than flurries/sprinkles, it's warm enough for that to fall as rain and that comes in the afternoon hours.
Rain should change over to snow from west to east between 6 and 9 PM tomorrow night, and will become briefly steady for a time before tapering off just after midnight. This period of snow will likely end up producing 0.5 to 1.5" of accumulation. It is worth noting that temperatures during the changeover from rain will fall fairly quickly, resulting in any wet surfaces turning icy.
Furthermore, any slushy accumulations run the risk to freeze-up and turn hard as we get close to the end of the event.
Wednesday is significantly colder, and as a disturbance swings through, it will kick of snow showers during the afternoon and into the evening. Some of these snow showers could be aggressive and put down up to 0.5", however they will be hit or miss in nature.
