INCIDENT: Failure to Yield

LOCATION: Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, Riverside County

SUSPECT: Christian Albarran, 26 years old, unknown residence

SUMMARY:
On Thursday, January 24, 2019 at approximately 10:48 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station observed a white Ford Focus, driven by Christian Albarran, near Dumosa Avenue and Yucca Trail, in the town of Yucca Valley. Deputies are familiar with Albarran and knew he was wanted for two outstanding felony warrants, for domestic violence (no bail) and identity theft ($250,000.00). Deputies were also alerted by a concerned citizen earlier in the day that Albarran was in possession of a firearm. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Albarran, but he fled at a high rate of speed. Albarran drove approximately 35 miles through Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, Desert Hot Springs and onto eastbound Interstate 10. Deputies pursued Albarran to the area of Interstate 10 and Bob Hope Drive, where the California Highway Patrol assumed the pursuit of Albarran. Deputies did not continue in pursuit after the California Highway Patrol assumed control. California Highway Patrol discontinued their pursuit once Albarran entered La Paz County, Arizona.
