Full Notification

On 01-25-19 at 12:26 a.m. Janesville Police Officers were notified of a stolen vehicle that was westbound on I-90 approaching the City of Janesville. Within minutes the vehicle was seen by a Janesville Police Officer traveling west on I-90 passing Milton Ave. The officer began following the vehicle waiting for backup before initiating a traffic stop. Once the officer received backup he initiated a traffic stop, just before the Hwy 51 Stoughton exit. The vehicle fled onto the off ramp for that exit and lost control. The vehicle got stuck in a snow bank and the subjects were taken into custody without incident.

After further investigation, it was found that the vehicle was stolen by two masked suspects at gun point. The Chicago Police Department is in the process of charging the subjects for their involvement in that incident.

For his involvement, Bishopp Gunn, was charged by JPD with Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent and Fleeing an Officer. The passenger, Phillip Alexander, was charged by JPD with Being a Passenger in a Stolen Vehicle. Both Gunn and Alexander were held at the Rock County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
