San Leandro Patrol officer locates burglary suspect vehicle from earlier in the day. Two arrested. 
A San Leandro Police officer on patrol during the midnight shift located a wanted suspect vehicle that was involved in an auto burglary earlier in the day.
On Friday, January 18th, around 3:00 pm, two suspects driving a silver Jaguar committed an auto burglary in the parking lot of a local restaurant. The victim told police that he witnessed two African American subjects smash the rear window to his vehicle, reach inside and take a backpack containing his laptop computer. Both suspects returned to the waiting jaguar that was displaying dealership "paper plates" and flee the area.
The victim captured the crime on his smartphone camera and provided the photos to the officers. The description of the suspects and their vehicle was broadcasted to surrounding officers.
Later that evening, around 12:30 am, a San Leandro police officer on patrol in the 600 block of MacArthur Blvd. spotted a silver Jaguar displaying "Antioch Toyota” paper plates. The officer conducted an investigatory stop on the vehicle and noticed the two occupants matched the description of the suspects given earlier in the day.
After searching the vehicle, the officer located burglary tools and stolen property, including several laptop computers inside of the vehicle. The officer was able to link some of the stolen property to another burglary that occurred in the City of Brentwood just hours earlier.
Both suspects, 26 yr old Kevin Blocker of Stockton and 35 yr old Carmen Johnson of Oakland were arrested for multiple felony charges and taken to jail.
On Wednesday, January 23rd, the Alameda County District Attorney charged both Blocker and Johnson for possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property.
"Auto burglaries will continue to occur in our community," said San Leandro Police Lieutenant Isaac Benabou. However, when preventative measures fail, we turn to reactive enforcement. This case is an example of our patrol officers staying observant, searching for wanted vehicles and suspects at all times."
