Wind Chill Advisory until 09:00AM Friday

Strong northwest winds will develop tonight and cause blowing and drifting snow. The strongest winds will be late tonight and very early Thursday morning which will likely cause blizzard and whiteout conditions. The winds will diminish a little from mid morning Thursday through the afternoon. This should allow the whiteout conditions to end, but blowing and drifting snow will still be likely. The winds will further diminish around sunset but remain strong enough to cause wind chill values of 20 below to 35 below zero Thursday night into Friday morning.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 25 below zero expected with gusts around 40 mph through the day.

* WHERE...Sioux, O'Brien, Cherokee, Buena Vista and Ida Counties.

* WHEN...From 8 AM Thursday to 9 AM CST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* AFFECTED AREAS: O'BRIEN ... BUENA VISTA ... CHEROKEE ... IDA ... SIOUX
