Suspect: Bipin Thapa, 22 year old resident of El Cerrito, CA
Charges: 243.4(e)(1) PC
Narrative:
On Thursday January 17th, 2019 at 4:36PM, Emeryville police officers were dispatched to a local hotel for a sexual battery. Officers arrived and met with a female who said a Lyft driver had picked her after she requested a ride to an Emeryville hotel. During the drive, the female victim alleged that a sexual battery occurred. Officers located the driver, who had returned to the hotel. The driver was identified as Bipin Thapa, a 22 year old resident of El Cerrito. The driver was arrested for sexual battery and the investigation is ongoing.
