Date: January 21, 2019

The City of Sun Prairie will be declaring a Snow Emergency:

Beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and continuing until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 a Snow Emergency will be declared.

A Snow Emergency means that there is no parking on ANY City street until 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 or until the Snow Emergency has been canceled.

Vehicles parked on the street in violation of this ordinance can be ticketed ($50 fine) and may be towed.

The weather forecast is for snow to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday and continue until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning with a total of 5 to 8 inches. Snow Routes will be maintained as necessary Tuesday afternoon and evening and a full plowing of the City is planned for the early morning hours Wednesday. After streets, parking lots and cul-de-sacs are cleared, crews will begin plowing and shoveling sidewalks, bike paths and crosswalks. Temperatures will be dropping to single digits on Wednesday and below zero Thursday night.

Thank you for your cooperation in removing cars from the streets to make plowing operations safe and efficient as possible for City crews.
