Come celebrate MLK day with the annual parade in Marietta! Martin Luther King Jr. sought equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest. Before his assination, he traveled extensively giving lectures on nonviolent protest and civil rights.
The annual parade in Marietta celebrating King's life will begin at 1:00PM today in the credit union parking lot near the intersection of Fairground and South Marietta Parkway. The route will continue North on Fairground to Roswell Street. The parade will turn left on Roswell Street and proceed West, ending in the historic Marietta Square.
Road closures along the route will begin at approximately 12:40 PM. The parade is anticipated to enter the square around 1:30 PM. Roads will re-open once the parade is finshed. The anticipated time for roads to re-open is around 2:00 PM.
