A suspect is caught on camera stealing from a church donation box and later identified & arrested
DATE/TIME: Friday, January 18, 2019 1:45 P.M.
INCIDENT: Burglary of Place of Worship/ Grand Theft: Money
LOCATION: 5600 block of Howard Street, unincorporated area of Montclair
SUSPECT: Daniel Warn, 32 years old, resident of Bloomington
VICTIM: Buddhist Temple of America, Montclair
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at approximately 2:30 P.M., an adult male entered the Buddhist Temple of America through an unlocked door. The suspect was captured on video surveillance forcing open a wooden donation box and stealing about $1,000, then leaving the church.
On Friday, January 18, 2019, at about 1:45 P.M., deputies returned to the incident location and contacted Warn, who initially provided a false name. After conducting a thorough investigation, Warn was identified as the suspect in the initial burglary and was arrested. Warn was booked at West Valley Detention Center.
